Kindergarten

School life that starts with play, in a building with its own garden.

You are here

AKindergarten buildingSingle storey · 8 classrooms A

A private kindergarten under the Ministry of National Education for children aged 36–66 months. Two teachers in every class, a daily English play hour and garden time every day.

Kindergarten children building a tower with wooden blocks

Our kindergarten sits in the quietest corner of the campus, in a single-storey building with its own entrance and fenced garden. Children arrive by bus or with a parent straight into this building; they do not share corridors with the older students.

Play, but not without a plan

The day is built on the outcomes of the Ministry's Preschool Education Programme. A weekly theme (for example "Where does water go?") becomes different activities in the classroom, the garden and the cooking workshop. Teachers record each child's development in an observation notebook, shared face to face with parents twice a term.

Settling in

The first two weeks start with short days. Parents can wait at the classroom door at first, then in the garden; we decide on the moment to leave together with the teacher. We know every child settles at a different pace.

English

There is a 40-minute English play hour every day, with songs, stories and movement; no writing and no tests.

What parents ask

Which authority is the kindergarten under?

Our kindergarten is a private kindergarten under the Ministry of National Education for children aged 36–66 months. We do not offer nursery care for children under 36 months; that age group falls under institutions of the Ministry of Family and Social Services.
